Dream #4 - 8.6.10 - 8.7.10

I actually had three separate dream sessions, with very different dreams.

My first dream mixed my HS life and my college life. Apparently, it was SAT day, but for some reason everyone taking the test was already in college and didn't actually need to take the test. A bunch of us were taking the test in my old room, in the dark. The only person I remember being there was Paul Freeman, but midway through one of the sections I realized what I was doing was pointless (I was already in college, why am I doing this test again?), and said "Fuck this!" (a hearty laugh from everyone involved) and got up to go to the bathroom. The hallway/bathroom looked like my high school, and after taking care of business, I went back to the room where everyone was done taking the test. Apparently the SAT was much shorter than I remember. Then, a bunch of us got in a car to go visit my friends Dan and Hannah. We met them in a parking garage that doubled as a lounge area where lots of people were sitting on couches and eating. We found a spot, ate our lunch, and I marveled at the size of the structure plus all the people around. Later on, my friend Kevin, myself, and some others were sitting around on a porch area not too far away. Kevin was smoking a cigar, and while I searched for something to light, I eventually realized he had one to share. Except when he gave me the cigar, it was broken in half, which prompted me to ask "Are you serious?". He was very serious. After lighting my cigar, I picked up a little puppy nearby, which quickly began to pee as I held in midair. It took us a minute to realize this, and once I put him back down, he was done peeing...and I was done dreaming.

The next dream took place in a post-apocalyptic world, I think. My friend Kevin said his sisters Kate and Megan were having a party at their place. I didn't realize at this time that the world was post-apocalyptic, and even the part where we had to climb up a tree and then go INSIDE the tree to get to their place didn't tip me off. Apparently their place was this cool house area under ground, inside of the tree (the tree acted as a chimney). There were tons of people there, having a good time, drinking beers. At one point, somebody knocked over a beer glass that looked like a boot, which seemed to upset a great many people. I tried to help clean it up when suddenly there was an emergency situation to take care of outside. Kevin, myself, and some other people ran outside to where the tree was (it was very dark). We were warned to get back inside, unfortunately I was too slow, so I ran and hid behind the tree. Soon, the tree was under assault from a dozen, purple-glowing geese. They were shooting lasers at the tree, when suddenly a hovering tank came up and shot bazooka shots at them until all the geese were dead. Now the top of the tree was badly damaged, and suddenly a holographic face appeared. This is when I realized the world was post-apocalyptic, and this face was the leader of the world. He was angry because the carbon levels from the tree were "twice what they should be" -- he knew people were living there. The bazooka shooters convinced him it was fine, at least for now. I went back into the tree where the Diehn sisters, Kevin, and their parents were now sitting around, upset that the place had been shot up. I told them that the evil guy was onto them, and we were springing into action when I woke up.

My last dream revolved around moving out of the Courtyards, where apparently Kevin and I had two apartments instead of one. After clearing out the first one, I decided to go to a casino for some poker (it must be my upcoming Vegas trip that keeps this theme going). I wasn't doing much until my friend Nate came over to watch after playing a bit, when I got into a pot with some chick who didn't seem to have it all together. I won and left with several hundred dollars, heading back to my other apartment to clear that out. First I stopped off in the apartment of somebody from high school, Meagan. She was busy cleaning up, as was her roommate (who I think was my ex), but I convinced her to come to the casino for a while. It was just across the parking lot. After a quick shower, we went over there, left pretty soon after, and made plans for later ;), while I went to clean out my other apartment. As I walked in, I walked by one of my grad students (didn't know I roomed with him!), and started packing while listening to somebody on the radio talk about Roger Ebert's writing style. I didn't really catch too much of what he was saying, and eventually woke up.
